Leonor Fini

Leonor Fini: Painter, Costumer, Photographer, Cat Lady.

Born in Argentina, raised in Italy, she came into her own as an artist in Paris between the wars.

She taught herself how to draw by sneaking into her local morgue as a child.

She befriend but didn’t join the Surrealists because they were mostly misogynist chumps.

She was prolific.

She made costumes and sets for the ballet and the opera.

She designed an iconic perfume bottle in the shape of a woman’s torso that became even more famous when it was copied by Gautier.

She made furniture.

She lived with 17 cats and two lovers at the same time.

She lived a life of art and creation up until her last breath.
